Formocha was founded in 2013 by siblings Daniel, Erica, and Tracy. Their goal? To share and to promote Taiwanese culture by providing the best drinks and desserts in Toronto. Bubble tea may be popular now, but these groundbreaking siblings helped bring the delightful drink to the city. Their authentic, handcrafted drinks and delicious desserts carry on a tradition of lovingly prepared foods. They’re continuing to grow, with a fresh focus on healthy, natural ingredients.
"We chose midtown to start our journey, it was rather difficult at that time because bubble tea were not as popular as today. We needed to explain what it is to almost 50% of customers who walked in to our store in 2013. Later on bubble tea became widely popular, we started to face more and more competition as other big name brand opening around the area. Along with competition, other challenges like the never-end-construction, and Covid also put our business in danger many time that we nearly had to close our store. It’s been tough but I think we are making through next year. And we are redesigning our menu toward more nature and health conscious products, 2022 will be an exciting year!" - Erica, co-founder
